About This Book
This data collection represents part of a longitudinal study of the nature of retirement and of the transition to a retirement lifestyle. Data on the retirees or their surviving spouses include: level of educational attainment, present health condition, current employment status, work history, industry and occupational classification, wages, retirement plans, attitudes toward retirement, pension benefits, insurance coverage, contacts with relatives, living expenses, assets, debts, income, and basic demographic information. The data are contained in one file. This file contains 10,169 records of which 245 represent interviews with surviving spouses of original respondents who died sometime after the 1969 survey.
