We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the platform or other users.

5. User Content

BookOrb allows you to submit content including reviews, ratings, shelf lists, and profile information ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content on BookOrb and in related promotional materials, solely for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.

You represent that your User Content is original or that you have the right to submit it, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law. We may remove or moderate User Content at our discretion, including content that is offensive, spam, misleading, or otherwise harmful.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use BookOrb for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from BookOrb without our written permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts, or data
  • Upload malware, spam, or content designed to disrupt the platform
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or our staff
  • Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls

7. Catalogue and AI Content

BookOrb provides book metadata, descriptions, cover images, and AI-generated summaries, FAQs, and recommendations. This information is compiled from third-party sources and automated systems. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that catalogue or AI content is complete, current, or error-free.

BookOrb content is provided for general information and discovery purposes only. It does not constitute professional, literary, or purchasing advice. Always verify important details (such as ISBN, edition, or reading order) with the publisher or retailer before buying.

8. Affiliate Links

Some pages on BookOrb include links to third-party retailers (such as Amazon, Bookshop.org, and Audible) where you may purchase books. These links may earn BookOrb a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are marked with appropriate attributes and are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for the pricing, availability, or policies of external retailers.

9. Intellectual Property

The BookOrb name, logo, website design, and original platform code are owned by Interlink Digital Group Limited. Book covers, author images, bibliographic metadata, and other third-party materials displayed on BookOrb remain the property of their respective owners and are used under fair use or licence for catalogue and discovery purposes.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from BookOrb's proprietary materials without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

BookOrb is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Interlink Digital Group Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of BookOrb. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
