About This Book
Friends from church once loaned me a book about the life of a man who lived and was well-known as a Christian worker in their former homeland in western Siberia, central Russia. After he died in 2003, his family members wrote a book about his life. What follows are a few edited and abbreviated portions taken from this true story, written by family members after his death. Some additional comment is included. We can learn much from such stories. But one of the most important things is that the choices of childhood and youth will very often shape how we will live in the future. Such is the story of Nikolai Sizov. He grew up in a large, poor family, but lived a life of service, spreading the true gospel of Christ wherever he went. This story shows that when someone responds to the truth and light that God gives them, He will give them more of it. Nikolai and his family all came to faith in the true Gospel of Jesus found in the New Testament. - Page 3.
The God who never changes commanded the ravens to feed Elijah when there was no food. And so it was, when a family in a little Russian village had no hope of finding food anywhere, they looked to God alone and He commanded a little dog and some mice to feed them for a whole month until new supplies came in. - Page 11.
