About This Book
This is a biblical case for indissoluble marriage. Even a century ago, marriage presented much higher entry level requirements of commitment than we see today. In the absence of social programs, welfare and unemployment benefits, a man had to be brave and committed enough to work hard to support a wife and family. Today, the "spare tire mentality" assumes that there is always another spouse available if the first relationship doesn't seem to work. Churches once held to permanent marriage covenant, but this has weakened significantly over the last 60 years or so. Couples can also choose to have very few children, again lowering the commitment level required to persevere. - The author.
