This book tells the story of a Reunion cultural activist, anticolonialist and anti-racist, during the particular era that begins with the departmentalization of the former colony of Reunion in 1946. Franswa Sintomer was a "marooner", a rebel, defender of Creole identity. A tireless promoter of the Reunionese language and culture, he has invested all the cultural fields allowing him to make his claims heard.
