About This Book

This full-color minicomic provides an account of journalist and cartoonist Susie Cagle's week-long State Department-sponsored trip to Israel with her father in 2009. She eats falafel, sightsees in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and swims in the Dead Sea, all while feeling conflicted about her anti-occupation politics. Susie isn't allowed to visit Palestine, but has a video conference with cartoonists from Gaza. The daily, dated entries are followed by an epilogue that documents her return to the US.
