About This Book

This volume is the first monograph dedicated to the multifaceted artist Giovanni Mancini, a participant in the aesthetic revolution of his era who remained true to tradition and his complex culture. Mancini (Guardia Sanframondi/BN 1953 - 2016) was essentially a sculptor, but also an expert restorer, a graphic artist, painter, collector and connoisseur. The search for an innovative, balanced and sensitive form, synthetically lyrical and aesthetically significant, translated into the selection of ad hoc materials was the leitmotiv of his life. Sign and material were scrutinised in their meanderings with the sprit of one well aware that innovation requires not only creativity, but also understanding. Giovanni Mancini was also an unrivalled expert in techniques and materials and a Master at the Fine Arts Academies in Catanzaro, Rome, Frosinone and Naples.00Exhibition: Galleria Domus Mata, Guardia Sanframondi, Italy (20.08. - 10.09.2017).
