Color-illustrated sketches of over 40 neighboorhods in the city, including parks, businesses, architecture, historical landmarks, views and maps of the above. She writes in her introduction on p. [i]: "Depending on whose boundaries you trust, San Francisco has about 135 neighborhoods within its forty-nine square miles. When I got on my trusty motorscooter to explore them, I kept finding corners I never knew existed, some by serendipity, some on the basis of friends' recommendations and some I knew only superficially...I hope this book encourages others, both residents and tourists, to go beyond the well-traveled sights and get a taste of the remarkable diversity, color and wide ranging cultures that make San Francisco so special."
