Bridges of memory

Provides oral histories based on interviews with 36 black Chicagoans who were affected by the great migration of southern blacks to the North during World War II. Reveals the history of Bronzeville, Chicago's black South Side community. Captures memories of the children, the adversities they faced and their strategies to overcome and hardships they endured in Chicago.
