When Deborah Marley applied for the post of nurse to look after ten-year-old twins, Crispian Alderslade persuaded his aunt to engage her. Actually they had quite a lot in common, they had both received leg injuries in accidents which had terminated their active lives as farmer and nurse. But there is a mystery surrounding Crispian and the twins, and who is the woman everyone warns Deborah about?
