The bloody quarter

Paul Hagar has been a drifter, trying several business enterprises in the Southwest before heading to Wyoming. There, new land is being opened for filing by the federal government in the Laramies. Through an ironic turn of events, Hagar is able to file on the most important quarter section in all of Converse County. Known as the Bloody Quarter, the strip serves as a gateway for the surrounding ranchers to summer graze for their herds in the high country - and it's sought by the most powerful rancher in the state and the gambling syndicate in War Bonnet, the boom town that is the county seat. The atmosphere around Hagar is now brutally tense. Hanging on to the Bloody Quarter will set him against some very ruthless adversaries.
