Alfredo Viazzi's Cucina e nostalgia

This is a memoir of the early life of Italian chef Alfredo Viazzi. This book recounts incidents from his childhood and early adulthood in fascist Italy and includes menus and recipes associated with each memory. The second half of the book has recipes for basics like stocks, sauces, and home pasta; descriptions of ingredients and wines; as well as a list of favorite restaurants from the late 1970's. Mr. Viazzi became a well known chef and restaurateur in New York City.
