Ismaël's legacy

An introduction to Ismaël Saincilus and his "Artibonite School of Art". The Artibonite Valley, a major agricultural region in Haiti is also a center for grassroots cultural movements including the arts and voodoo practices. It is here that the late world-renown Haitian artist Ismaël Saincilus (1940-2000) developed his school with more than 90 gifted Haitian artists, many of whom are highlighted in this book.
