About This Book

The study is a thorough follow-up based on current literature and new scientific findings on the millennial past of Peru, enriched with iconographic sources and descriptive tables. Author Miriam Salas Olivari, a Professor of History, presents a vast chronological study of the pre-Inca period in Peru, from the arrival of the first men to Peruvian territory in the glacial (Paleolithic) era, to the presence of highly organized societies prior to the rule of the Inca empire, some through the versions of chroniclers and scholars of the 16th and 17th centuries regarding the colonial period. The author conceives the idea of a god-creator as a transversal presence alongside that of the protective apus compared with the emblems of the present Peruvian deities.
