About This Book
The author published his journal as a page and tutor of deposed France royal family in their prison at The Temple of Paris. He himself was the last frenchman in the service of Louis XVI.
He recounted day to day living condition of his royal master up to the last hour of Louis XVI in the Temple before leaving for his execution.
Included in this book as well was the journal of a catholic priest, L'Abbey Hedgeworth de Firmont; of conducting last holy communion for the unfortunate king. He was requested by the former monarch to conduct religious service in preparation of death and accompanying Louis XVI to his execution.
