A Gift from the Mogul

Isobella, the illegitimate daughter of an English slave, is brought up by a Portuguese couple on the west coast of India. When Mogul forces attack, the beautiful Isobella is taken captive and transported to the Mogul court as a prize for the Emperor. Decked in silks, gold and pearls, she is brought before Emperor Akbar the Great. To her horror he hands her as a gift to his half-English noble, the murderous Kaudar Khan, a man she believes hates her as much as she hates him. It comes as a shock to both of them when they discover that their feelings are not as straightforward as that.
