"In 1819, H.M.S. Favorite left England for the Cape of Good Hope, stopping in Brazil on its outbound and homeward voyages. Gathered here are the watercolors of the coasts of Rio de Janeiro, Pernambuco, and principally Bahia, that Lieutenant Robert Pearce produced during those stopovers.
