A collection of articles written for a Kazan newspaper about many aspects of life of the Chuvash, Mari and Russian people living predominantly in the Kozmodemiansk district of the Kazan province in the early-mid 19th century. Absolutely fascinating as the author himself was a native Chuvash and so saw many aspects of life a Russian would not.
