About This Book
The contributions to this volume address some of the difficulties and opportunities facing foreign investors in China. The scene is set by a review of the management issues facing foreign investors - entry mode, partner selection, negotiation, corporate governance, human resource management, knowledge transfer and marketing. Contributors then discuss whether management attitudes in China have changed in recent years as a result of the economic reforms, and the development of state-owned enterprises, collective enterprises, and joint ventures. Further essays consider various stages in the value-adding process: sourcing, distribution and advertising. Finally, the issue is addressed concerning what, if anything, China can learn from the success story of Japan.
