About This Book
Albert Czetwertynski's family is one of Poland's oldest aristocratic families, and once owned vast stretches of land in the East. Albert's father had returned home from England after World War II, and in 1953 he was arrested by the communists on the charge of spying for the Americans. The family's property was confiscated by the Polish government, including the family's palace in Warsaw, on which site the U.S. embassy was built in the 1960s.
