We mogen niet klagen

Tijdens hun zoektocht naar ansichtkaarten, stuitten Sonja van Hamel en Robert Muda op een partij kaarten van bejaardentehuizen. De kleurige luifels hangend aan doorgaans grauwe en fantasieloze gevels van nieuwbouwcomplexen, zijn het toonbeeld van de vooruitgang. In de jaren '60, '70 en '80 verstuurden ouderen de kaarten met handgeschreven teksten vanuit hun appartementen met uitzicht. Grappig en ontroerend, maar tussen de regels door schemeren ook eenzaamheid en de aftakelende gezondheid.0De ansichtkaart wordt inmiddels met uitsterven bedreigd en ook het bejaardentehuis in deze vorm blijkt niet bestand tegen de tand des tijds. During their search for postcards, Sonja van Hamel and Robert Muda came across a batch of cards from retirement homes. The colorful awnings hanging from the usually gray and unimaginative facades of new-build complexes are the epitome of progress. In the 60s, 70s and 80s, elderly people sent the cards with handwritten texts from their apartments with a view. Funny and moving, but between the lines there are also loneliness and deteriorating health. The postcard is now threatened with extinction and the old people's home in this form is not able to withstand the test of time. What remains are these eyewitness accounts
