Hylands

In Hylands-An Architectural History, Esmond Abraham (Chief Architect, Chelmsford Borough Council 1974-95, who supervised the restoration of this neo-classical country house in Essex) traces its development from its earliest known beginning c.1730 up to 1986, when, after surviving many years of neglect and the threat of demolition, it was returned to its former glory.
