Carys was having a hard time with her tycoon boss and his son. Mr. Shushter was getting altogether too much, with his bullying ways and his conviction that money would buy anything and everyone, and Carys knew she couldn't go on with the job much longer
Mike was another matter, however; nevertheless, although she liked him, she certainly didn't love him, and so she told him, firmly, when he proposed to her.
So when the three of them were stranded on a remote Pacific island, Carys foresaw plenty of problems. But the two Shushters together turned out to be less of a problem than the island's owner, the inscrutable Drifford Campbell.
