Dr. Robert C. Detweiler, former President of California State University, Dominguez Hills, initiated the exhibition to be held at the University Art Gallery. The paintings represent some major California Impressionist painters such as Maurice Braun, Benjamin Brown, etc. The collection consists of gifts from the graduating classes of the Gardena High School from 1919 to 1956.
