Poems, upon Several Subjects

This is a small hardbound book (10cm by 16.25cm) of poems entitled Mrs Iliff’s Poems. It was first published in Malta in 1808 and the second edition was in 1818. The second edition contains ‘some other s more local’ (poems). The book contains a list of subscribers both those received from Malta and others from Corfu. The ‘Advertisement’ by the author is dated Valletta 8 October 1818. This book is made up of some 49 poems and sonnets on different subjects, such as Love, Friendship, Nationalistic Poems, Joy and some Maltese popular songs translated to English.
