Abstract: The roles of vitamins and other nutrients in prevention and treatment of cancer are receiving much research attention. The basic mechanisms of carcinogenesis and factors which modify the biochemical steps involved in the processes of cancer formation are the topics of research in this compilation of papers presented at the International Symposium on Vitamins, Nutrition and Cancer held in Denver, Colorado in 1983. The functions of vitamins is the treatment of cancer are also explored. The nutrients studied include vitamins A, C, B6 and E, selenium, and the macronutrients.
