Iiu Susiraja

Iiu Susiraja's provocative self-portraits break all sorts of rules. She plays with food, comes up with odd uses for everyday objects and questions restrictive beauty ideals. Her imagery deals with womanhood and human relationships with warmth and brutal honesty. Dry Joy is the first book-form presentation of Iiu Susiraja's idiosyncratic photographic and video works. It provides a cross-section of the artist's entire oeuvre, spanning everything from her home-spun early pictures to her recent studio works.
