Apocrypha, distant libraries, contaminated books, from which leprosy and heresies spread; cursed paintings, perhaps haunted paintings, which contain ancient cults; scholars, bibliophiles, artists, whose quests have proven perilous… This is all Lead, so many stories which, from the confines of Antiquity to the salons of the 19th century, from battlefields to Babylonia, are also allusions to the dark work of the alchemists.
