About This Book

This beautifully produced book was written by two Englishmen who, at the end of the 19th century, were instrumental in setting up the Coto Donana in southern Spain as a wildlife reserve, which it is to this day. In addition to writing about hunting and birds they give a fascinating picture of the primitive country rural Spain was at that time. They also have a 15-page chapter on bullfighting which is unusually accurate and well worth reading whatever your feelings on the subject. Highly recommended.
