Includes conflicts which surrounded ownership of St. Vincent, and by extension, the area identified later as Dorsetshire Hill; the arrival of immigrants who started the settlement and experienced problems of integration with the local population; the gradual provision of adequate infrastructure and modern social amenities that encouraged developers and prospective buyers to invest in family homes built in beautiful surroundings.
