The rise and fall of justice councils in British Columbia

This is a report of a research study of the history of Justice Councils in British Columbia. It is based on a thorough review of the literature and records of 23 Justice Councils, in seven provincial regions. It also involved 31 face to face recorded interviews with politicians, policy makers, staff and citizens who participated in the development, implementation, and ultimate demise of these Councils from 1972 until the early 1980s.
