Outi Pieski

This publication presents the work of Outi Pieski, a recipient of the Fine Arts Academy of Finland Award, and her exhibition 'Cuolmmadit' shown at EMMA in autumn 2018. 0The title of the exhibition, 'Cuolmmadit', is in the Northern Sámi language and means 'to tie many knots'. It is a reference to the techniques of Sámi handicraft, which the artist uses in many of her works. 0"In Sámi culture, there is not a long tradition of written history.
