About This Book

Shows how Bødker in the 1960s made groundbreaking contributions to "Arena-Modernism," term coined by Anders Juhl Rasmussen in his 2012 book entitled Arena-Modernisme, which introduces modernist books published by the Arena publishing company as a new direction in Danish literature. Godtfeldt shows that Bødker's works have strong aesthetic ties to European Modernism but that they also highly original as such. She focuses on Bødker's adult literature (she's mostly known as a children's book author), especially the experimental novel "Pap" and reads them in the Arena-Modernist context.
