Urbanismo e política no Brasil dos anos 1960

The book discusses the relationship between the field of urbanism, politics and the impact on the transformation of Brazilian cities. The book contributes to the understanding of the complex articulation between the expansion of the professional field, the modernization of cities, the expansion of the territory of urban planning and the action of the State. In a framework of possibilities of social and political transformation that has been outlined since the end of the second war, the ruptures since 1964 are increasingly intense in a process of institutional centralization, absence of instances of political representation and expansion of the technical structure. The combination and intensification of these processes consist sofa of the explanations for the acute ideological crisis of planning in the 1970s, as well as contain the evidence of its transformation.
