Mountain grown

This is a firsthand account of growing up and living in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky in the 1920's and 1930's. Specifically, the area is "up" Flaxpatch Branch in Knott County, KY. It chronicles a young boy's life in the mountains with his parents and siblings, and highlights the joys, sadness, and life lessons he learned. It provides the reader a window into a previous time, place and culture that is unique to this area of Appalachia.
