About This Book

The purpose of this study was to explore the ability of the preterm newborn to respond preferentially to its own mother's voice. If demonstrated, this information could be shared with parents as encouragement to interact with their infant, to increase visiting frequency, and perhaps, to facilitate the infant's attachment to its parents.
