Camillo Sivori

The first modern biography dedicated to Camillo Sivori (1815-1894), violinist and composer, the only pupil of Nicolò Paganini. Life, artistic activity and the extraordinary career of one of the greatest violinist of the nineteenth century are reconstructed through the original documents, periodicals of the time, the biographical sources.Virtuoso internationally renowned Sivori was related to the most important artists of his time, from Rossini to Verdi, from Berlioz to Liszt, by Bottesini to Vieuxtemps. The figure of this artist is dashed against the backdrop of the musical culture of the nineteenth century, with particular attention to Genoa, the city where he was born.
