Equity Within Education

Barnard Pre-College Program students collaborate on an educational zine going into depth about the oppressive structures embedded in and perpetuated by the American educational system. The authors share facts and statistics on ongoing segregation in schools, inadequate coverage of the atrocities committed by the U.S in history courses and textbooks, sexism in the classroom and lack of positive sex education, and the school-to-prison pipeline; potential system-wide reforms and curriculum changes are proposed and explained, alongside a playlist and word search. -- Claudia
