GESCHICHTE RUSSLANDS

This is a history of Russia in three parts - from the very beginning in Novgorod and Kiev until 19th century. It was first published after the Second World War, but was written by Giterman in the years before the war. Furhtermore, every part has a collection of interesting original text quotations at its end. The authors wrote this history from a socialistic point of view, looking not only at what happened at the Tsar's court, but also telling us something about the life of ordinary people. However, it lacks criticism of socialism or communism.
