About This Book

The Clogher Valley is a 150 square mile area in the center of Ulster. A narrow guage light railway was opened May 2, 1887. Serving as a link to the Great Northern system at either end of the Valley, it gave the people of the Valley access to broader horizons and new products. The increasing use of motor vehicles finally forced its closure in 1942. A brief history of the Valley and its railway is accompanied by numerous photographs.
