About This Book

Autodidact sculptor Luis Freisztar (b. Argentina 1954-2008) and his series of animals (specially monkeys and street dogs) created with pieces of wire found in scrap yards. Freisztar started his career as assistant to other sculptors. In 1985 he worked as an assistant to the sculptor Omar Estela in the realization of the altar of the Cathedral of Avellaneda. She worked in the micro foundry workshops of Humberto Montes. He obtained a Scholarship for artistic creation from the National Endowment for the Arts. Between 1997 and 1999 he worked on glazed ceramics, together with Marcia Schvartz and Ana López as special guests at the Artistic Production Workshops of the Ernesto de la Cárcova Higher School of Fine Arts. The fable that El Búlgaro proposes has no anecdote, plot, or moral.
