New indicators for science, technology and innovation in the knowledge-based society

ESCWA published a study on increasing productivity of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) and enhancing their competitiveness through clusters and networking. This study was undertaken as part of an ESCWA initiative to help SMEs in the garment-manufacturing business in Lebanon to achieve greater competitiveness. Garment manufacture was chosen for the study because it plays an important part in development and economic growth in ESCWA member countries, and represents a major source for labor in these countries.--Publisher's description.
