Journey for Myself

Famous for her novels, Colette is less known for her essays and occasional pieces, many of with still remain untranslated. The present volume is the third of a series of collected writings by Colette which are being made available in English for the first time. (The second in this series, a new story collection entitled *The Other Woman*, is being published concurrently with *Journey for Myself*.)

*Journey for Myself* presents a rich potpouri expressing Colette's capacity for sensuous pleasure: her delight in fashion, its frivolity and femininity, and in the succulence of old-style country cookery. She reminisces, too about her childhood and that of her daughter, recollects and portrays friends, animals, birds, flowers.
