Sweet splendor

Ah, the peaceful solitude of cruising down the Mississippi River on a houseboat. Or so Dale Hayward anticipates--until she finds a nearly nude man in her bathroom! Rakishly Burke Sheridan, oil-company troubleshooter, invites her to share his shower. Insolently, he refuses to honor her claim to the boat. Though Dale is devastatingly attracted to him, she schemes furiously to evict this charming interloper. But soon she's captivated by days of fun-filled escapades ... and swept away by nights of ecstatic lovemaking...

Then, back home, Burke abruptly disappears! Was their houseboat idyll just a fling for a playboy- adventurer? Or is there more to Burke ... and the situation ... than Dale suspects?
