The apple tree

Frances moves with her mother to lonely Beck Farm in the Yorkshire Dales with the intention of opening a guesthouse. But there seems to be some mystery about the previous owner of Beck Farm. What has happened to his wife - and why is she still so bitterly resented? As Frances brings the house and its old apple tree back to life, she discovers the history of the house and its occupants - and at the same time rebuilds her own life.
