Optimal city size

We looked at various factors like crime per capita, economic base, public safety, medical facilities, recreation, retail facilities, etc. to determine the optimal sized city. We concluded it was 50,000 to 250,000 people. This piece was one of the earliest attempts to define the ideal city size. Dr. Glenn Petry
