The biography of Swiss harpsichord maker Burkhardt Tschudi, better known by the anglicized spelling of his name, Burkhat Schudi, whose instruments came to be sought after by many of the leading musicians and influential aristocracy of Europe. As contemporary German-speaking immigrants, Tschudi befriended the young Frederik Handel. He married the daughter of John Broadwood, founder of the Broadwood piano company.
