Vännernas arena

Erik Viklund's fourth book is gripping story about Leif, Reidun, a house but is also a story about city planning, modernization and its consequences on human life. In "Vännernas arena" (Friends' Arena), Erik Viklund depicts in photography and text the intimate and odd story of what happened in a house in northern Stockholm during the years 2010 - 2020. What once began as a observation of the lives of Erik Viklund's friends grew over time into a larger story about people and properties that are literally moved away to make room for a city's visions and modernization. The book is a personal attempt to approach issues of proximity, representation and urban transformation.
