About This Book

Although generally Judith Albert is herself the protagonist in her video works, they are not intended to be about her. Rather she sees herself as an acting representative, and is inspired by language and its daily use, everyday situations, but also by the strong atmosphere in the works of Félix Valloton and Jan Vermeer. 'I don't like the either/or. Both can be mutually productive. The poetic need not be unpolitical - it is also a way to embrace the quiet, the subtle and differentiated nuances.' Exhibition: Kunstmuseum Solothurn, Switzerland (27.01.-08.04.2018).
