Just the job

About This Book
Are young people leaving school to enter the workforce adequately prepared for what lies ahead of them? How far do aspirations held while at school match up with actual experience in looking for, and setting into, jobs and further training? Are the types of training received after entering employment different for boys and girls, and what are their reactions to what they receive? The research, of which this is the summary report, investigated such questions through interviews with a sample of young people in Scotland. The interviews were completed in 1977 at a time when unemployment was already rising.
